Direct case transfers between GoldFynch's US and Canadian environments are not possible. The two platforms operate independently, and cross-border data migration between them is not supported.

However, you can manually migrate your case using GoldFynch's export and import tools. Here's how:

Step 1: Preserve tags and metadata

To include tags and other metadata in your export, you will need to create a custom load file control parameter profile. You can then use this custom load file control parameter profile while creating the load file production to export your case.

Step 2: Export your case as a load file production

To export your case data, we recommend creating a load file production, as this best preserves your case structure. While creating the production in Step 3 of the Production Wizard, select the custom control parameter profile you created in the previous step.

Step 3: Export document notes and annotations (if available)

If you have document notes and annotations that you want to keep, generate a report that includes "document notes and annotations". Check the "Include work product columns in JSON format" checkbox if you want raw work product data alongside the text columns.

Note: This report serves as a reference point and cannot be directly imported into the new system.

Step 4: Download all outgoing productions

Before closing out your US case, download all productions to retain a complete set of all produced documents, including any Bates Stamping.

Step 5: Import data into GoldFynch Canada

Create an account and case on https://goldfynch.ca, then follow the production import process

What is not preserved in this process

Saved searches are not carried over. Review sets are not preserved in their current state, but are included as columns in your reports. If you would like to track the review sets, we suggest generating a report of all files in your case and selecting the "ReviewSets" field. Click to learn more about generating reports and the components of a report.

Need help with document notes and annotations?

If you want document notes and annotations applied to the re-imported files in the new instance, you will need a load file overlay, handled by the Engineering team via a Technical Support Request (billed at $165/hour).
