If a load file production was originally split across multiple volumes, it may need to be restructured into a single combined zip file before it can be imported back into GoldFynch as a load file production.

This article explains how to reconstruct those volumes so GoldFynch can properly recognize the production and allow you to create the import.

Before you begin

You will need access to all production volumes. You can use either:

  • the original volume zip files outside of GoldFynch, as long as they are exactly the same files that were uploaded to the case, or

  • the downloaded production volumes from GoldFynch

To download a production volume from GoldFynch, open the volume in the Document Viewer and click the Download button.

Step 1: Download all production volumes

Download all volumes associated with the production. In this example, there are four volumes.

Make sure all four volume zip files are saved outside of GoldFynch before continuing.

Step 2: Extract each volume zip file

Extract each zip file so you can access its folder structure.

Each volume should contain a similar set of folders, typically:

  • NATIVES

  • TEXT

  • IMAGES

Inside each of those folders, there is usually a numbered subfolder for that volume.

For example:

Volume 1

  • NATIVES

    • 00001

  • TEXT

    • 00001

  • IMAGES

    • 00001

Volume 2

  • NATIVES

    • 00002

  • TEXT

    • 00002

  • IMAGES

    • 00002

The remaining volumes will usually follow the same pattern, such as 00003 and 00004.

Step 3: Merge the volumes into a single folder structure

Create one master folder that combines all production content into a single structure.

Your final combined folder should contain only one of each main folder:

  • IMAGES

  • NATIVES

  • TEXT

  • DATA

Then place the numbered subfolders from each volume into the appropriate main folder.

Final folder layout should look like this:

  • IMAGES

    • 00001

    • 00002

    • 00003

    • 00004

  • NATIVES

    • 00001

    • 00002

    • 00003

    • 00004

  • TEXT

    • 00001

    • 00002

    • 00003

    • 00004

  • DATA

    • load files only

Step 4: Download and add the load files

In addition to combining the IMAGES, NATIVES, and TEXT folders, you will also need to download the load files from the case and place them into a DATA folder.

The DATA folder should contain only the load files associated with the production.

Once complete, the reconstructed production should include:

  • one IMAGES folder

  • one NATIVES folder

  • one TEXT folder

  • one DATA folder containing the load files

Step 5: Re-zip the reconstructed production

After all folders and files have been combined, compress the master folder into a single zip file.

This zip file should contain the four top-level folders directly inside it:

  • IMAGES

  • NATIVES

  • TEXT

  • DATA

Step 6: Upload the reconstructed zip to GoldFynch

Upload the new combined zip file to your GoldFynch case.

If the folder structure is correct, GoldFynch should detect it as a load file production automatically.

Once detected, it will appear on the right side of the Overview page in the case, where you can click Create Import to begin the import process.

Expected result

The final zip should be structured like this:

  • IMAGES containing 00001, 00002, 00003, and 00004 subfolders

  • NATIVES containing 00001, 00002, 00003, and 00004 subfolders

  • TEXT containing 00001, 00002, 00003, and 00004 subfolders

  • DATA containing only the load files

Tip

If GoldFynch does not recognize the upload as a load file production, double check that:

  • the zip contains only one top-level IMAGES folder, one NATIVES folder, one TEXT folder, and one DATA folder

  • the numbered volume subfolders are inside the correct parent folders

  • the load files are placed only inside the DATA folder

  • the files used are the same original files from the uploaded production
