If a case is dismissed and you don't think you'll be using its GoldFynch case again, then you can create a local export of your case files to continue storing them locally on your computer and then delete your GoldFynch case to end the billing.

While there isn't a direct export option, you can create a production including all of your case files, and then download the finished production. Here are a couple of guides to help you out:

Note that:

  1. You cannot create a production export from archived cases unless you first un-archive them
  2. Any existing productions will be lost once a case is deleted, so be sure to download any existing productions as well, if you would like a local copy of those

Including GoldFynch metadata like tags and file paths in your GoldFynch case

You can also customize the load file columns created for a load file production to include additional values like the GoldFynch file path and currently applied tags (otherwise these will be lost when the case is deleted). This can be accomplished by:
  1. Selecting to produce your files as a "load file/database format" production in Step 3 of the Production Wizard
  2. Then selecting the custom load file control parameter profile (from the dropdown at the bottom of the screen,) before continuing with the rest of the steps of production as outlined in the earlier links

Including Document Notes and Annotations in your export

If there are any document notes you would like to export from your case, you can do so by generating a report with "document notes and annotations" included and then downloading the report to view locally.

Here's a guide on generating reports in GoldFynch: Generating reports using GoldFynch's 'Report' feature - specifically, see step 8.
