You can secure your GoldFynch account by adding another layer of security with multi-factor authentication (MFA). Set up your account to receive a secure code via text or a trusted authenticator application on your mobile device every time you log in. Read on to learn how to secure your GoldFynch account. 


Step 1: Begin setting up MFA


1. Sign in to your GoldFynch account

2. Click on the 'Menu' button in the top-right corner of your screen, then on the 'App settings' button 

3. Click on the 'Security Settings' tab

4. Click on the 'Setup MFA' button

Step 2: Choose and set up your method of authentication


Once you click on 'Setup MFA', you will be asked to choose an authentication method. Select one and click on 'Continue'.

Open the authenticator app you have on your phone and scan the generated QR code (partially covered in the image below)Scan QR code


Enter the code generated in the app to verify and click on 'Continue'


After this, the connection will be made between your GoldFynch account and your authenticator. You will then be able to generate an authenticator code whenever you wish. 


NOTE: If you don't have an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator or Authy installed on your mobile device, you will need to install one during setup. Learn more about setting up Google Authenticator here and Authy here.


Each time you log in (i.e., successfully enter your login details on the GoldFynch website), you will need to open the linked, secure authenticator application and enter the code it generates.

Setting up authentication via text

1. Select your country

2. Enter your mobile number
Enter your phone number and click on continue

3. Click on continue

4. Enter the code you have received via text

Enter the verification code and click on continue5. Click on Continue


The mobile number you used will be stored, and each time you log in (i.e., successfully enter your login details on the GoldFynch website), you will need to enter the code that is sent to you via text.


Step 3. Saving your recovery code


Once you have set up your verification method, you will see a screen similar to the one below (part of the code is masked in this image), which will display a recovery code. Make a note of this code in a secure location - you will need it to recover access to your account if you are unable to log in for any reason in the future. 


Save the recovery code in a safe place


Once you have noted the recovery code, click 'Close' to complete the setup of your multi-factor authentication. 


Viewing MFA status 


GoldFynch displays your current multi-factor authentication status on the  'Security Settings' tab. When it is enabled, you will also be able to view your currently chosen authentication method

Logging into your account

Enter your login details on the GoldFynch login screen, then click the Login button. On the following screen, enter your verification code based on whether you have enabled text or authenticator validation. If you use your authenticator for multiple services, generate a code for GoldFynch and enter it. 

Recovering your account

If you lose access to your GoldFynch case and are unable to log in with either authentication method, you can recover it using the recovery code generated in Step 3. Saving your recovery code. 


Using a recovery code


1. Click on the 'Use Recovery Code' button as seen in the image above

2. Enter your secure recovery code, and click on the 'Verify' button

Note that once you have used your recovery code, your multi-factor authentication will be disabled, and you will need to set it up again if you wish to use it.

1. Click on the 'Disable MFA' button found under the 'Security Settings' tab. You will be sent a validation code and be prompted to enter it.

2. Enter the validation code and click on the 'Verify' button
