GoldFynch lets you save your searches for future reference. You can save both quick searches and advanced searches. Learn how to do so here.

Saving a quick search 

1. After performing a search in GoldFynch, click on the edit (pencil) icon in the 'Search' view (i.e. the screen where your search results are displayed.) Alternatively, if you have constructed a search in the 'Advanced Search' view you can directly save it as explained in step 2 below.

2. You will be taken to the 'Advanced Search' view. Click on the text that says 'Untitled, click here to rename [ unsaved ]'

3. Enter a name to save the search under, then click on the arrow.



4. Click on the 'Save' button.

Saving an advanced search

1. Navigate to the advanced search view and create your query

2. Execute steps 2 - 4 that have been given in the previous section


Loading a saved search 

1. Click on the 'Advanced Search' icon in the left pane to navigate to the Advanced Search view.

2. Click on the 'Open' button to see a list of saved searches that you can choose from.



3. A list of all saved searches in the case will be displayed. Click on the name of a saved search to open it. 



4. Click on the run search button to perform the saved search.

Editing a saved search

1. Navigate to the advanced search view

2. Click on the 'Open' button to see the list of saved searches

3. Load the saved search you want to edit

Click to open the search you wish to edit

4. Edit the search query by adding one or more conditions, or even removing a condition

5. Click on 'Save' to save the changes that were made

Undo and Redo

If you have made a change to your search query that you want to undo, you can use the undo button. Similarly, to revert to a change that you’d made before using undo, you can use the redo button, highlighted below.

 Note: Undo and Redo only track changes made in the current search query, so if you create a new case or load an old case you will not be able to undo or redo your changes across the cases.

Delete a saved search

There are two ways by which you can delete a saved search - 

1. From the query builder area

2. From the list of saved searches


Deleting a saved search from the query builder area


1. Navigate to the Advanced Search view

2. Click on the open icon to view the list of saved searches

3. Click on the saved search you would like to delete to load it

4. Click on the 'Delete' button at the top of the query builder area

Click on Delete to delete the saved search

5. Confirm the deletion in the screen overlay that appears


Deleting a saved search from the list of saved searches


1. Navigate to the Advanced Search view

2. Click on the open icon to view the list of saved searches

3. Click on the trashcan icon next to the search you wish to delete

Click on the trashcan icon to delete the query

4. Click on the 'Delete!' button to confirm the delete

Click on 'Delete!' to confirm the deletion


Note: Once deleted, a saved search is removed completely from GoldFynch and cannot be recovered
