Step 1. You will need to use an FTP client like FileZilla. If you don't have one, download and install FileZilla for free. Click here for the Windows download and here for installation instructions, or here for the Mac download with installation instructions here.

Step 2. Launch the program

Step 3. For FileZilla, enter the address of the server that the GoldFynch team shares with you exactly as provided into the "Host" field, and similarly the username, password, and port into their respective fields in the Quickconnect bar at the top of the screen (Note: By default, the protocol used for uploading to GoldFynch servers is By default, the protocol used for uploading to GoldFynch servers is SFTP and the port is 2022 (so the address will look like "sftp://<fileserver-name>")

You can navigate through the uploaded folders and files in the 'Remote site' section, and see how many failed or successful transfers have been completed by clicking on the respective tabs at the bottom of the screen. If there are any failed transfers, attempt to transfer them again, or get in touch with the GoldFynch team.

NOTE: For a different FTP software, the process will be similar.

  1. Input the details given to you by the GoldFynch team into their corresponding fields
  2. Connect to the server
  3. Copy and paste the files and folders to be uploaded into the 'queued files' section
  4. Select all the files and folders in the queue
  5. Click on the 'Upload' button if there is one, or right click on them and click on 'Process queue' or 'Upload'
  6. After the upload is complete, check the failed/successful transfers list (or the software's event log) to confirm that your files have been uploaded successfully

Important

By default, the protocol used for uploading to GoldFynch servers is SFTP and the port is 2022 (so the address shared by GoldFynch will be formatted as "sftp://<fileserver-name>")

Once you have completed this, the GoldFynch team will take over, and will notify you when the files are made available in your GoldFynch case. You can also check the status of the import process at any time by following the steps described here.

NOTE: The FTP server will stay online for 1 week. After this period expires a new server would have to be provisioned.

You can find out more about GoldFynch's other add-on services here.
